As part of the GFCS Climate Services Adaptation Programme in Africa, the workshops aimed to review and validate the key findings from baseline and ICT- radio scoping studies on farmers and pastoralists’ climate and agro-advisory information needs as well as to analyze current critical gaps in climate and ago-advisory information delivery at large scale for farmers, using ICTs and rural radio. The workshops also was an occasion to jointly brainstorm on best possible technological and programming options to address these gaps. The workshops validated and developed consensus on an information flow model for scaling up climate services for millions of farmers using ICTs and radio, with clear roles for national stakeholders and private sector partners.
